According to the latest news , it seems, Ubuntu Linux is planning to bring closed source products like Adobe Photoshop and Apple i-tunes . A recent official post in Ubuntu forums asks readers to fill out a survey form which asks for user’s choice of applications which , they need should be ported to Ubuntu Linux . Here is the link .

If such a situation arises , like porting of photoshop to ubuntu happens , it is sure that a lot of windows users would be shifting from Windows to Linux . There are a large number of windows users , who need to change to Linux , but can’t do so only because of such awesome softwares like Adobe Photoshop . Although there is already an alternative for photoshop in Linux named Gimp , it is said that considering the present scenario Gimp is never a substitute for photoshop .

I have been using Ubuntu and its a version of the open source Linux operating system. Ubuntu tries to combine enterprise-class stability, while still giving users access to the latest software applications and making it easy for new users to start using Linux. Ubuntu offers a variety of installation choices, including a desktop CD, server CD, as well as a new USB image for use with some hand-held devices. All of the CDs are available for either x86 or AMD64 chipsets. Its really good if photoshop is coming in it.
