In this tutorial you will be able to create a super cool Rusty effect using Photoshop!

Step 1: First of all we need to define a pattern to make the holes effect in the text!. So create a new photoshop document of 100px * 100 px with 72 resolution. Select elliptical marquee tool and change its style to fixed size. Enter into it values 24px * 24px. Now click on the top left corner and press delete to get a circular hole!Now by holding down the shift key press 4 times down and press delete. Now press 4 times right and press delete. Four times up and delete. Now 2 times down and 2 times left and press delete!. Finally this makes the pattern as shown below . Use the rulers to get the center square portion of the pattern and save it as a pattern!.Step 2: Now open a new photoshop document of large size and a high resolution! Use a black background preferably Ariel Black font and write in the text at a minimum font size of 80 pts! Apply a stroke of 7 px thick and also add the pattern overlay of the pattern we just made now! Step 3 : Now flatten the layer . remember to create a backup! Create a copy of the current layer and place it below the current layer!. Now delete the holes in te layer using the magic wand!. Use pattern overlay on the current layer. and set blend mode to exclusion!. Set a drop shadow of opacity 75 % color black,distance 16,spread 30,size 15!tep 4: Using the layer created below the current layer, create a copy above the layer!. move it 2px down and 2px right. Now control click the layer to select the layer on the thumbnail!. move the selection 2 pix up and 2 px left. Press Delete!. Apply some gaussian blur! Continue reading
