Cairo-Dock is an application launch bar for your ubuntu, comparable to the dock in Mac OS X or Rocket Dock (for Windows).it is compatible with Beryl, Compiz, Metacity+xcompmgr and kwin.Even though there are applications like Simdock and AWN in ubuntu for dock stimulation ,I think this one faster and eye candy.Cairo-Dock can work with GNOME, KDE and XFCE desktop environments.
