On the way to release K3b 2, SC native KDE program for burning CD / DVD / Blu-Ray, she released her first release candidate for the numbered 1.90.0. The famous incorrect detection of a pure Blu-ray disk has been fixed in this version and since the changes are small most of the users have the opinion that it does not deserve the number change. According to reports the major complaint about k3b is that the appearance haven’t changed much since its introduction, other than the changes that were made to integrate with kde desktop environment. The main change in k3b  is that K3bSetup now uses KAuth which means that kdelibs 4.4 are now required to build k3b. If you want to build K3b with kdelibs 4.3 you’ll need to disable K3bSetup at configure time (pass -DK3B_BUILD_K3BSETUP=OFF option to cmake). Now grab your copy of k3b source and enjoy.
