SkyDrive will be OneDrive

Microsoft has announced that SkyDrive will be called soon OneDrive. This name change is due to a legal dispute that the Redmond giant lost against a British company by the use of the name SkyDrive. The new name will bring new features that have not yet been announced.

The news brings with it some changes to the storage service SkyDrive, but it is also the result of a legal dispute that Microsoft has had in recent months with the British company BSkyB, which ended with a loss in court for Microsoft.

Have not been announced yet the differences between the two services, only known to OneDrive have some surprises for those who want to migrate their service, in addition to current users of SkyDrive. If you are someone who likes surprises, Microsoft invites you to log in OneDrive, so you can be the first to receive the news that they have saved.

So far, Microsoft has unveiled a video where little explains about the new service, only their ability to save in OneDrive all types of content. Maybe give us more storage capacity? Possibly, but keep in mind this change has only been the result of losing a legal dispute. Somehow, Microsoft will have to “disguise it” with new features.
